Entry to Anglo-Chinese Junior College through the Harp Ensemble

via the Direct School Admission Exercise 2009

 

 

APPLICANT ELIGIBITY

 

Our audition panel seeks to identify students with high levels of musical abilities on the harp instrument.

 

Applicants are to have achieved the following minimum musical qualifications on the harp instrument:

 

 

Harp   Minimum of Grade 5 (ABRSM) or equivalent

Experience on the pedal harp is preferred

 

 

 

SELECTION PROCESS

 

  1. Audition cum Interview

 

v     A successful audition is the key requirement for admission to ACJC Harp Ensemble via DSA. Satisfying the abovementioned complete set of criteria does not guarantee successful direct admission into ACJC as the applicant will be required to come down to Anglo-Chinese Junior College for a selection audition.

 

v     Candidates are required to present two contrasting pieces no longer than 10 minutes. The performance audition repertoire should be of good technical and expressive standard.

 

v     All candidates will also be required to attend an interview.

 

v     Students applying for Direct School Admission into Anglo-Chinese Junior College should have an exemplary disciplinary record.  

 

 

 

SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS

 

Applicants are to include the following supporting documents:

 

v     Certified True Copies of relevant certifications and record of achievements, solo / chamber / orchestral experience, etc.

 

v     A teacher's letter of recommendation with your application.

 

v     Secondary 3 and 4 mid-terms and year-end examination reports.

 

 

 

Only successful candidates will be informed via email and/ or phone.

 

Successful candidates, upon acceptance, must join the ACJC Harp Ensemble and participate in performances and/or competitions with the ACJC Performing Arts CCAs.
