via the Direct School Admission Exercise 2009
APPLICANT ELIGIBITY
The following are qualifying criterion for secondary
4 students to enter ACJC through DSA exercise using their choral experience/achievements:
v The chorister must be an active member in his/
her secondary school choir. Membership in MOE-recognised Choral Excellence
Schools is preferred although not compulsory.
v The chorister must have outstanding choral
potential which includes good vocal tone and range, and excellent aural skills.
v Sight-reading skills and prior music
knowledge are not necessary though they can be an advantage.
v Satisfying the abovementioned complete set of criteria does not
guarantee a chorister DSA into
SELECTION PROCESS
v The audition will be conducted by staff
and graduands of the ACJC Choral Excellence Programme. Students will be
required to sing their Secondary School Song and one song of their choice.
v Aural tests on pitch and rhythm will be
part of the assessment.
v All candidates will also be required to
attend an interview.
v Students applying for Direct School
Admission into
Applicants are to include the following supporting documents:
v Certified True Copies of relevant
certifications and record of achievements, solo / chamber / choral experience,
etc.
v A teacher's letter of recommendation with
your application.
v A Choral Coach's letter of recommendation
(if applicable).
v Secondary 3 and 4 mid-terms and year-end
examination reports.
Only successful candidates will be informed via email
and/ or phone.
Successful candidates, upon
acceptance, must join the ACJC Choir during their stay at
