APPLICANT
ELIGIBITY
Our audition panel seeks to identify students with
high levels of musical abilities on their string instruments.
Applicants are to have achieved the following minimum
musical qualifications on the following instruments:

Violin |
Minimum of Grade 6 (ABRSM) or equivalent |

Viola |
Minimum 2 years of playing experience in string ensemble
/ orchestra. ABRSM or equivalent certification preferred |
|
Violoncello |
Minimum 2 years of playing experience in string
ensemble / orchestra. ABRSM or equivalent certification preferred |
|
Double
Bass |
Minimum 2 years of playing experience in string
ensemble / orchestra. ABRSM or equivalent certification preferred |
SELECTION PROCESS
v
A successful
audition is the key requirement for admission to ACJC String Ensemble via DSA. Satisfying
the abovementioned complete set of
criteria does not guarantee successful direct admission into ACJC as the
applicant will be required to come down to Anglo-Chinese Junior College for a
selection audition.
v
Candidates are
required to present two contrasting pieces no longer than 10 minutes. The performance
audition repertoire should be of good technical and expressive standard.
v
All candidates
will also be required to attend an interview.

Students
applying for Direct School Admission into
SUPPORTING
DOCUMENTS
Applicants are to include the
following supporting documents:
v
Certified True
Copies of relevant certifications and record of achievements, solo / chamber / orchestral
experience, etc.
v
A teacher's letter
of recommendation with your application.
v
Secondary 3 and
4 mid-terms and year-end examination reports.
Only successful candidates will be informed via email
and/ or phone.
Successful
candidates, upon acceptance, must join the ACJC String Ensemble during their
