Honours’ Night this year was a wonderful evening recognizing and celebrating the achievements and service to the college by our JC2 students. We know that the academic qualifications and intellectual capacity of our students will see them through their tertiary education and later in their contribution to the economy as useful working adults. However it is their development as whole persons – cognitively, physically, emotionally, socially, morally and spiritually – that will see them through life. An ACJC education aims to provide that in order that the College and its graduates remain relevant today and in future times. The 937 awards given out this year were just a validation that we have been approaching our educational programme in the right way. Many of our students have actively participated in CCAs with enthusiasm and passion, with a majority holding various Leadership positions in all areas of Sports, Community Service, Clubs and Societies as well as the Performing Arts.
The ceremony was held in the College Auditorium which saw more than 600 guests and parents witnessing the Awards presentation together with the 454 Awardees. The night also saw the Special Awards given out to students with outstanding contributions in Sport, Performing Arts, and Societies while maintaining exceptional academic achievements.
After the ceremony was a flurry of phototaking and a hearty buffet dinner catered for everyone. It was truly a wonderful way to close a chapter of College life and the two years of dedicated contribution to their CCAs.
