2010 was an exciting and eventful year for the ACJC netball team. Blood, sweat and tears were shed throughout the trainings, but never once did the girls look back. They were all focused on their one goal: to bring the Championship back home.
Team ACJC started off their season with a bang, winning their first match with an impressive score of 86-13, rolling pass ACS (I), and never looking back from then. The opponents in the first round proved to be of no match for Team ACJC’s strong defense and attack, allowing the girls to average a goal difference of more than 60 against schools like ACS (I), NYJC, YJC and PJC. Schools in the second round also found it difficult to counter the fast and accurate play by the girls, fighting and giving their all but to no avail. Team ACJC did not disappoint, marching in and out of the second round victorious, winning with goal differences of 30 and more, landing a comfortable spot in the semi-finals against TJC. With their confidence and morale boosted and their hearts united, burning with desire for victory, Team ACJC scored a decisive 70-23 victory against TJC, securing their place in the finals against traditional netball powerhouse Hwa Chong Institution (HCI).

The long awaited finals arrived on May 21. Having met HCI earlier in the second round with a win of 58-29, the team was full of confidence as they took court yet at the same time, keeping their heads in the game without being complacent. With a good crowd of ACJC supporters cheering and encouraging the team on from the first whistle to the last, Team ACJC played a match of superb netball, showcasing confident moves, accurate shooting and outstanding skills that vindicated the hard work put in by each member and their coach the past few months of training. Right from the beginning, Team ACJC asserted their dominance in the match. There was much to cheer about and celebrate on the ACJC side when the final whistle went, with the girls securing an undisputed and convincing win over HCI with a final score of 58-29, again! Along with the win, history was made, as the 2010 team was the first in the College to secure a consecutive two-year reign in the A-Division Netball Championship!
Team ACJC would like to thank God, for being their pillar of strength, protecting and blessing them throughout this wonderful journey, never failing them even through the harder stages of the competition. Also, the team extends their gratitude to their Principals, coach, teachers-in-charge, and supporters for their unending dedication and faith in them. To their fellow teammates, the girls are greatly appreciative of the friendships forged and this victorious journey each and everyone embarked on together from start to end. Even as the girls graduate and leave the College, AC Netball will forever reign in their hearts, for it is where passion, tenacity and integrity prevailed. Indeed, To God Be The Glory, The Best Is Yet To Be.
