From the class of 1996:

 

Mr Chng Kai Fong (2SA1, Class of 1996) is one of the four recipients of the Lee Kuan Yew Scholarship 2011. He will be pursuing a Master of Science in Management at Stanford University, and has been concurrently awarded the Administrative Service Postgraduate Scholarship and Fulbright Scholarship. He was previously awarded the Overseas Merit Scholarship to pursue his undergraduate studies.  Whilst serving the Ministry of Education, he was involved in the review of the Mother Tongue Language policy and the establishment of the new School of Science and Technology. He is now a Director in the Civil Service College.

 

 

 

 

 

From the class of 2003:

 

Christopher Seck from 2AH was the captain of the championship school chess team and an MOE humanities scholar. At Stanford University, he earned the Phi Beta Kappa (Honour society for top 10% GPA), and departmental honours and distinction in Economics. He will be reading Law at Harvard graduate school.

Nicol Zhou from 2AD1 was in the Arts Council, History Society, the Oratorical and Debating Society and was awarded the Historia Collegia awardee at the 2003 'A' levels. He graduated from Amherst College (one of the leading liberal arts colleges in the US), with a magna cum laude (second in cohort) and was the top debater in his college for 3 consecutive years. He will be joining Boston Consulting Group, one of the top 3 consultancies in the world.

Matthew John Thanabalan was the team captain of the Oratorical and Debating and was in the Arts Council in ACJC. He graduated magna cum laude with Bachelors of Arts at Brown University (an Ivy League College).

 

 

 

Chan Yi Jian has been awarded First Class Honours for his Bachelor of Aerospace Engineering degree by the School of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering, Nanyang Technological University (NTU), in recognition of his outstanding academic performance.

 

 

 

 

 

From the class of 2004:

 

Taufan Rusli has been awarded First Class Honours for his Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering Degree by the School of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering, NTU, in recognition of his outstanding academic performance. Taufan Rusli was from 2SA4 and was also a recipient of the 2003/2004 MOE Asean Scholarship. 

 

 

 

Tan Dezhong has been awarded First Class Honours for his Bachelor of Accountancy degree by the Nanyang Business School, NTU in recognition of his outstanding academic performance.

 

 

 

 

 

From the class of 2005:

 
Lim Jin Li, from the class of 2005, obtained a first class honours in history at the London School of Economics. Jin Li was also awarded the Stevenson Prize for the best overall performance in the graduating class. He obtained a first in every paper and was the only person in his class to do so over the three years of his degree programme. The members of the examination board noted that they could not recall the last time that this happened.   Jin Li is currently pursuing a Masters in history at the LSE on the history of Empires, Colonialism and Globalisation, with the aim of moving on to a doctoral thesis on the Cold War in Asia.  The college offers its heartiest congratulations to Jin Li, and wishes him all the best in his academic pursuits.

 

Jeanne Tai from 2AH Red scored First Class Honours in History from NUS. She was the Valedictorian of the University Scholars Programme and was also awarded the NUS Undergraduate Scholarship in 2006. Jeanne was the top Arts student in ACJC at the 2005 'A' Levels, scoring 6 distinctions in 4 principal subjects, GP, and also History Special Paper. She also won the Historia Collegia Book Prize and was part of the Arts Council and the Geography Society.

 

 

 

Lim Jin Li from 2AH, Class of 2005, has graduated with First Class Honours from the London School of Economics’ (LSE) History Department. He has also won the Stevenson Prize for being the top graduating student of the department. Jin Li will be moving on to pursue a Masters in History.

 

 

 

 

 

From the class of 2006:

 

Chng Ai Pheng from 2SB1 has been awarded First Class Honours for her Bachelor of Accountancy degree by the Nanyang Business School, NTU in recognition of her outstanding academic performance.

Ong Huiqi from 2SB5 has been awarded First Class Honours for her Bachelor of Business degree by the Nanyang Business School, NTU in recognition of her outstanding academic performance. Huiqi was also a recipient of the 2005/2006 Chen Su Lan Scholarship.

Han Yanling Lindy from 2SC3 has been awarded First Class Honours for her Bachelor of Business degree by the Nanyang Business School, NTU in recognition of her outstanding academic performance.

 

 

 

Joshua Hiew (2AA2) was recently crowned Champion in the Editorial Impromptu and Extemporaneous Speaking categories of the National Forensic Association National Competition. During his time in college, Joshua served as the Captain of the Singapore Worlds Schools Debating team and the ACJC Debate Team. Joshua was also on the Principal's Honour Roll during his year of graduation. Joshua is currently an undergraduate of Northwestern University. ACJC congratulates Joshua on his achievements!

 

 

 

 

 

From the class of 2007:

 

Natalie Pryke from 2AH, Class of 2007, graduated top of her class from Warwick University with a Bachelor of Laws (Honors) Degree. Warwick’s Law School is amongst the top in the UK. Natalie continued to pursue a wide variety of activities while in Warwick, including assisting with Warwick’s Law Clinic and dancing with the Belly Dance Society.

 

 

 

 

 

From the class of 2009:

 

On 30 July 2011, Thng Yiren from 2AH (2009) was awarded the Singapore Government Scholarships (SGS) for the Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB). Yiren is the first ever recipient of the prestigious SGS for the Central Narcotics Bureau. He will be reading Politics, Psychology, Sociology and International Studies at Wolfson College, University of Cambridge commencing 2012.  Yiren is an example of how any individual can better himself through a passionate adherence to truth and tenacity in all that they undertake. Yiren’s school career included his election to the Principals’ Honour Roll (2009) and his receipt of the Scholastic Merit Arts (2010) for GCE A Level Examinations results. Yiren’s life code is that one should ‘value genuine inquiry over functional learning and explore new grounds, while re- examining and improving old talents’. He believes in having the backbone to make tough decisions and to stay the course no matter how rough life becomes. The college congratulates Yiren on his fine achievement and his furthering of the ACSian tenet of noble service to God and natio.
