The ACJC Concert Band had the opportunity to participate in the 4th Los Angeles International Music Festival from 17-25 June 2010. The Band obtained a Gold award with a high score of 97 marks.

A total of 4 teachers and 49 students and alumni embarked on this tour with our band conductor. The Band was also privileged to have Mr and Mrs Khoo Chwee Tin who especially flew to LA to support us. Besides visiting the famous landmarks of Los Angeles like Hollywood and Beverley Hills, we explored the historical Old Town of San Diego and had an enjoyable shopping trip at Carlsbad Premium Outlet.

The Band had the opportunity to not only enjoy an outdoor performance in Disneyland where we played to supportive park guests, but also explore Disneyland and California Adventure Park. We also had an enriching workshop under the tutelage of Dr Tony Mazzaferro, who is currently the Director of Bands at Fullerton College.

The tour culminated in a day of competition at the Walt Disney Concert Hall where we had the chance to listen and compete with eight international bands, including Australian and American bands.
