The World Scholars' Cup 2010
On the 27 and 28th March 2010, three teams comprising of nine students from ACJC participated in the World Scholars Cup held in Nanyang Girls High School. The World Scholars Cup is an annual academic competition organized by the United States organization DemiDec, which is a premier publisher of academic materials for SAT and TOEFL syllabus in the United States. The competition requires participants to undergo a series of assessments consisting of debates, essay writing, theory paper and buzzer round. The subjects covered in these assessments include Literature, Science, Psychology, Economics, History, Art and Music. Eventually, this competition leads to the World Scholars Cup final which will be held from 18-20 June 2010 in China, involving more than 100 schools across 13 countries.

Despite these gruelling requirements and fierce competition from teams rivals from countries such as Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam and Singapore , the ACJC contingent performed emarkably well in the Southeast Asia Regional level this year, clinching awards in both individual and team segments.

In addition, for the team debate category, the team comprising of Phan Nop (2SC2), Law Zhe Wen (2SC2) and Andrew Arjun Sayampanathan (2SA2) clinched the Southeast Asian Regional 4th position.


The team would like to thank our teachers for their unwavering support and the support given by the college. We would also like to thank God for his guidance, especially when we were pitted against tough opponents such as NUS High School. To God be the Glory, The Best Is Yet To Be.
