Interns For National Geographic Explorer
National Geographic Explorer is lookign at the possibility of engaging interns from our college to be guides for the Nature Trail Programme. This programme will run from January to May 2012.
The interns are to lead a group 20 primary students in a nature trail in either of the locations i.e. Sungei Buloh, Jacob Ballas Children's Garden or Sentosa. These trails involve the use of Nikon's DSLR and Aim & Shoot digital cameras. The interns are required to teach the students how to use the cameras. All interns will undergo a training session on how to use the cameras scheduled in December 2011.
The Nature Trails walks will be held 3 times a week with a morning and afternoon session on each day starting January 2012. Each session will be 3 hours long. Each guide/intern will lead a group of 20 primary students at any given session as mentioned. Guides have to have a pleasant disposition as they are required to interact with the students through the walk.

Bond-Free Scholarship: Howe Yoon Chong PSA Scholarship
The bond-free scholarship would pay for tuition , other compulsory fees and provide a living and book allowance.
Applicants should:

- Qualify or gain entry to NUS, NTU, SMU, Polytechnic or ITE
The scholarship funds full-time study, up to a maximum of 4 years, of any course leading to a Certificate / Higher Certificate, Diploma / Advanced Diploma, Basic Degree (up to Honours).

Singapore Olympic Foundation (SOF) - Peter Lim Sports Scholarship 2011
Background
The scholarship aims to help promising but financially challenged athletes to further their training and development in sports. In addition, it also seeks to support athletes on the high performance pathway (i.e. with the National Youth or National teams) who require additional funding.

Quantum of Award
* Primary School level athletes – up to $2,000 per year;

The Straits Times will be publishing a special newspaper feature titled ‘Scholarship & Top University Special’ on 17 July 2011. In conjunction with this, they will be holding an exhibition and seminar at Suntec City Concourse from 10.00am to 6.00pm.
This special newspaper feature and the event are planned specially to meet the needs of students and their parents with respect to selection of scholarships and universities.
